Thanksgiving is close my friends! It is time for meal planning, recipe browsing, and eating way too much good food!! I thought this would be the perfect time to share one of my very favorite cookie recipes with you.
1 stick of butter (1/2 cup)
1/2 cup milk
2 cups sugar
1 cup chocolate chips
3 cups of oatmeal
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 large bowl
1 medium size sauce pan to boil the butter, milk, and sugar
1 teaspoon to measure vanilla & drop the cookies
Below are the brands that I try to use.
Step 1: Place chocolate chips, oatmeal, and vanilla in to large bowl. **Hint about the vanilla… I tend to pour vanilla over the spoon, holding it over the bowl, and let it overflow with vanilla by a few drops! The extra vanilla gives it a little something special if you ask me.
Step 2: Combine the butter, milk, and sugar in to the sauce pan. Bring to a rolling boil and continue for 1 minute.
Step 3: Remove the sauce pan from heat, and pour the liquid mixture in to the large bowl with the dry ingredients (chocolate chips, oatmeal and vanilla). Stir immediately and mix well.
Step 4: Lay wax paper on top of the counter space and begin dropping the cookie mixture by the spoon full on to the wax paper.
Step 5: Let sit until cool to the touch.
My last recommendation is to hurry and hide some for yourself, because they won’t last long!
